Power of Pain

Most of us avoid pain and problems of any kind and do what we can to stop them if they are unavoidable. While there is no need to seek them, perhaps we should consider them as opportunities, which then changes our attitude, which then leads to a position of peace and joy. It is an opportunity to identify with Jesus and an opportunity for spiritual formation.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
— James 1:2-4

Sometimes God allows a difficult season to be a kind of bit and bridle that pulls us back to him and shows us we need his friendship and love above all else.
— Timothy Keller
